Jason Waddell, associate professor, music, was interviewed by WTIM radio in Taylorville regarding the new audio production certificate being offered at LLCC.

The certificate is targeted to students interested in designing and implementing audio production in the home studio environment, as well as live sound applications of audio production in the professional world. Students will learn the basics of music theory, aural listening and keyboard skills, and the equipment and techniques needed to produce high quality audio recordings for various media.  Learn more.

WICS covered the Expanding Your Horizons STEM conference for junior high girls April 9 sponsored by College for Kids and Community Education. Dr. Lesley Frederick, vice president, Student Services, is the subject of a personality profile, “Specialist in student success,” in the April edition of Springfield Business Journal.

Scott Stallman, associate vice president, LLCC Outreach, was interviewed Thursday, March 31 on WTIM’s Morning TalkShow.  He discussed summer, fall and community education classes being offered at Taylorville and the advantages of taking classes at a community college.

Marnie Record, workforce specialist, is this week’s author of the SJ-R’s Epicuriosity 101 column with “Five ways to fool yourself into better health.”

An article in the U.S Department of Education IFLE March newsletter featured the LLCC Arts and Humanities partnership with the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies at University of Illinois for the “Cultural Values in the Eastern World” film and lecture series.  Ashley Green, assistant professor of English, Paul Van Heuklom, professor of English, Dean Tim Humphrey and student Brandon Lewis all appeared in the article.
