Encourage students to attend Smart Start Seminars!
The Center for Academic Success is offering free Smart Start Seminars in January for students. Please encourage them to attend!
This 50-minute seminar includes: Introduction to college-level study skills, time management, reading and questioning textbooks, taking effective notes, skills to improve your memory, and test-taking tips.

CAS Testing Area hours – final exam week
Make-up testing hours in the Center for Academic Success (CAS) testing area during final exam week are:
Monday, 12/14: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Tuesday, 12/15: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Wednesday, 12/16: 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Thursday, 12/17: 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Friday, 12/18: No exams will be proctored.
Faculty have until 11 a.m. on Friday, 12/18 to pick up their exams from the CAS testing area. Any exams remaining after 11 a.m. will be placed in faculty mailboxes. Please contact Julie Clevenger with any questions.

The A-Team is meeting today, Oct. 27 from noon-1 p.m. in the R.H. Stephens Room, Menard Hall. The A-Team, or autism awareness and support group, is an informal group of students, faculty and staff who are interested in talking and learning about the challenges and successes of students with autism spectrum disorders.

CAS Testing Area hours for finals week
The Center for Academic Success Testing Area will be offering extended evening hours on Monday, May 11. On this day, the testing area will remain open until 7:30 p.m. to better accommodate students who need to make alternate final exam arrangements with their instructors. Testing area hours of operation for final exam week, as well as service hours for students requiring special final exam accommodations, are listed below.

Monday, May 11: 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 12: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 13: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 14: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday, May 15: No tests will be proctored
Students with disabilities who receive the accommodation of having their tests read and/or scribed may schedule appointments with an Academic Success Professional during the following times:

Center for Academic Success offers Smart Start seminars
The 50-minute Smart Start Seminar is an absolute must for students who are new to college or those who are returning to college after a period of absence. The Smart Start Seminar provides students with the necessary tools to achieve academic success in college courses. Topics include: Introduction to study skills, time management, reading and questioning texts, taking effective notes, memory and test taking. Participants will receive a free Academic Success Kit. Last day for testing this week in CAS is Dec. 18
The last day to take tests in the Center for Academic Success is Thursday, Dec. 18. All tests must be completed by 6 p.m., unless the student has an appointment with an academic success professional to have the test read. Faculty may pick up their exams in the testing area until 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19. Any exams remaining after 10 a.m. will be placed in faculty mailboxes.
