It is that time of the semester to think about who would be a great peer tutor for the spring semester! The LLCC Center for Academic Success is holding open interviews for peer tutors on Nov. 14, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Nov. 15, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students who are chosen to be a peer tutor will begin employment in January 2019.

Students using LLCC Accessibility Services present with a tremendous variance of abilities and challenges in the academic setting. The role of LLCC Accessibility Services is to provide accommodations and supports that allow equal access to course content, course expectations and the classroom environment. In this session, we will present an overview of types of disabilities, accommodations and helpful classroom strategies, with a specific emphasis on hearing and visual impairment.

This week is National Tutor Appreciation week. Tutors have very challenging jobs and provide an important service to our students. Please let them know we appreciate their hard work!

The LLCC Center for Academic Success Makeup Testing Center will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Sept. 6. The regular Thursday schedule of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. will resume on Thursday, Sept. 13.
