CAS testing center hours

The LLCC Center for Academic Success testing center hours for final exam week are:
Monday, May 13 – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, May 14 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, May 15 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday, May 16 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday, May 17 – Closed

Students may schedule an exam time by calling the testing center at 786-2376. All exams must be completed by 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 16. Faculty have until 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17 to pick up their exams from the testing center. After 11 a.m., all remaining exams will be placed in faculty mailboxes. Please contact Irene Siewert at 786-2376 with any questions.

Open interviews for peer tutor positions

Please let any qualified student (3.0 GPA, 12 credit hours earned, enrolled in 6 hours) know about the open interviews for peer tutors taking place this coming Wednesday and Thursday, April 24 and 25, in the LLCC Center for Academic Success from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students interested in working as a peer tutor do not need an appointment during these two open interview days. Open interviews for peer tutors April 24 and 25

Open interviews for peer tutors will be held Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the LLCC Center for Academic Success. Please recommend students and inform them of this great on-campus job opportunity for the upcoming fall semester. No appointment needed!

Peer tutor requirements:

  • Completed 12+ college credit hours
  • Have 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Received As in courses they wish to tutor
  • Enrolled in six or more credit hours for spring 2019
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess a strong academic commitment
  • Are responsible enough to work independently

International Writing Centers Week Feb. 10-16

Celebrate International Writing Centers Week with the LLCC Writing Center during the week of Valentine’s Day! Students, faculty and staff can make homemade valentines and attend one of our poetry writing workshops. Students can post their original valentine-themed poems on the Writing Center’s Facebook page for a chance to win one of three $10 Quiznos gift cards. Congratulations to the LLCC Center for Academic Success for successful recertification of the peer tutoring program! The College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) acknowledges excellence in peer tutoring programs in post-secondary educational institutions by awarding the International Tutor Training Program (ITTP) Certification which will remain valid for three years. ITTP certification requires comprehensive documentation of all aspects of tutor training and includes a rigorous peer review process.
