LLCC ALERT test this morning

Each semester, LLCC tests its emergency alert system called LLCC ALERT. LLCC ALERT allows the college to communicate with you by text, phone and email in an emergency, as well as for severe weather and other closures. Current employees and students are automatically enrolled in LLCC ALERT.

The next test will take place today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, at approximately 11 a.m. You will receive a test message from LLCC ALERT.

We encourage you to visit www.llcc.edu/alert and log in with your LLCC username and password to check your current contact information and manage how you receive emergency notifications. LLCC ALERT uses the information about you currently stored in the college’s Colleague system, and this information may need updating. Please add your office phone number if it is not listed, and make any other revisions needed.

For assistance, please contact the IT Service Desk at 217-786-2555 or helpdesk@llcc.edu.

Note: Updating your contact information in LLCC ALERT will NOT update that information in Colleague. To update your information in Colleague, please contact LLCC Human Resources.

Face covering reminder

Employees in face masksAs a reminder and as outlined in the Return to Campus Guidelines, a face covering is REQUIRED to be worn at all times while inside an LLCC location. The only time a face covering is not required is if you are isolated in an office. This is one of the most effective means to curtail the spread of germs and we must remain vigilant and set the example for our students.

Welcome Jacob Gulso

Jacob GulsoJacob Gulso, an LLCC graduate, has recently joined the college as an admission and registration services representative. He previously worked at Richland Community College as a solutions specialist, assisting students with scheduling appointments, adding classes and transcripts. Before that, he worked for the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. While at LLCC, Jacob studied network administration and liberal arts. He can be reached at jacob.gulso@llcc.edu. Welcome, Jacob!

LateStart classes video

View the following 15-second video about LateStart classes! It is also being shared on social media, television and digital advertising.

Recognizing that some four-year college and university students may be staying home because their schools have cancelled in-person classes, and other students may have missed LLCC’s fall registration deadlines due to challenges brought on by the pandemic, LLCC is offering a full array of LateStart classes. Twelve-week transfer and career/tech courses will begin Sept. 21, and eight-week transfer and career/tech courses will begin Oct. 19. All of the courses can be completed by the end of the fall semester in mid-December.

A hotline has been set up at 217-394-5580 (text), 217-786-2227 (phone) and latestart@llcc.edu (email) for students to discuss their options. Students contacting the hotline can communicate with specialists about the enrollment process, payment options and financial aid. A list of available LateStart classes and more information are available at www.llcc.edu/latestart.

Show us your masks!

One of the safety requirements in the Return to Campus Guidelines is to wear a face covering. Below are photos of Jessie Blackburn, director, Tisha Miller, enrollment coordinator and Christine Marietta, administrative assistant at LLCC-Litchfield; Tiffany Sunderlin, program assistant, athletics; and Misty Hagstrom, graphic design specialist, public relations and marketing, wearing their stylish and creative face masks. If you happen to forget your mask, there are some available at the Information Desk in A. Lincoln Commons.

Thank you to all who submitted photos. All this week we showcased a few photos each day, highlighting employee ingenuity and creativity as we work together to maintain a safe working and learning environment!
