Paycheck distribution today in HR

Due to yesterday’s weather closing, distribution of paychecks was postponed to today. Paychecks will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the Human Resources office. Checks not picked up by 3 p.m. will be mailed.

Joi Mauk, instructor, nursing, has completed her Certified Pediatric Nurse certification. To become certified as a CPN, nurses must demonstrate mastery of content tested in physical and psychosocial/family assessment, health promotion, management of illness/clinical problems and professional role. Congratulations!

Prior to coming to LLCC, Clayton owned his own business, worked in the business support group at Springfield Clinic and conducted data analysis for a local telecom company. Parchment Connect: Illinois today, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

LLCC is hosting Parchment Connect: Illinois today from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Trutter Center. Parchment members of local secondary and post-secondary education communities will learn best practices, hear what is new and on the horizon for Parchment, discuss emerging trends in academic credentials and network with peers and members of the Parchment team.

LLCC-Litchfield closes today at 3 p.m.

LLCC-Litchfield will close at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 14, so that staff and students may attend visitation and services for Lorie McDonald, director of LLCC-Litchfield, who passed away following an accident Nov. 8.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. today at the Litchfield Family Funeral Service, 700 South State St. in Litchfield. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lorie McDonald Emergency Fund for LLCC-Litchfield which has been established with the LLCC Foundation.

We extend our condolences to Sarah Laurent, CNA instructor, whose younger sister, Nakita Ahrens, passed away on Nov. 5. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 9, 1-2 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services followed at Robinson Cemetery in Pocahontas. Read the obituary.

College mourns loss of Lorie McDonald

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of LLCC-Litchfield Director Lorie McDonald due to a tragic accident Nov. 8. Lorie was a highly engaged leader, well-respected by her colleagues and students. She loved her job and was dedicated to serving LLCC and her community. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, many friends and acquaintances, and the students she assisted and encouraged every day. EAP (Employee Assistance Program) counselors will be available at LLCC – Litchfield on Monday, Nov. 12. All LLCC employees can access EAP resources and services, including grief counseling. (See next item in LincIn.)

LLCC – Litchfield students will have access to counseling services at LLCC-Litchfield Monday (11/12) through Thursday (11/15) from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Additional hours may be added, including evening hours. A schedule of hours will be available at the LLCC-Litchfield front desk.

Lorie McDonald advised many students in Litchfield and those who take classes on the Springfield campus and other locations.
