Who will be the 2022 Distinguished Service Award honorees?
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes more than the “employee of the year.” This award is given to LLCC employees who demonstrate exemplary leadership and service to the college community, promote a student-focused environment and exhibit a strong commitment to the college’s core values.
Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award will be selected from the nomination pool. If no one is nominated in a particular category, no award will be given. The committee does not widen the pool beyond those nominations received, so your nomination is important!
To make a nomination, please submit a nomination form found on the HR Portal Page.

At-home COVID-19 tests
Starting Jan. 15, at-home COVID-19 tests became available for sale around the U.S. You can check with local retailers or pharmacies to see where at-home tests are available. Tests purchased in this manner do qualify for health insurance coverage. You can also order up to four tests through www.COVIDtest.gov. By ordering from this website as your first option, you can save our health plan this cost.

Avoiding a trip to the emergency room right now is more important than ever. But when you have a dental emergency after hours, sometimes you can’t wait.
Sun Life Dental is excited to announce the launch of our new partnership with Teledentistry.com to bring our dental PPO members* 24/7 virtual access to dental providers, whenever, and wherever they are. Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, the service is automatically incorporated into members* dental coverage.
PPO dental members can now use TeleDentistry.com Virtual Dental Visits when they:
- Are having a dental emergency and do not have a dentist,
- Need access to a dentist after hours and your regular dentist is not available or
- Need to consult a dentist without leaving home or while traveling and your regular dentist is not available.

Recent temporary changes, including a limited waiver, to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) may benefit public sector and non-profit employees. Some of these changes offer benefits available for a limited time, so you don’t want to miss out on this info!

Did you know that public service employees may be eligible for Federal Student Loan forgiveness? The PSLF program allows Federal Student Loan borrowers to apply for forgiveness if they are employed full time by a government, 501(c)(3) organization, or public-serving nonprofit, and meet other requirements.
If you want to learn more about PSLF or if you have applied for PSLF and been denied, this is the session for you. In this session, we will discuss the existing PSLF program as well as a new Limited Waiver for PSLF that will allow borrowers to receive credit for payments that previously did not qualify for PSLF. The Limited Waiver ends Oct. 31, 2022, don’t miss out!
