LLCC Commencement 2021. Drivent to Succeed. LLCC.Join us in creating a sea of LLCC blue today for our hardworking graduates to see when they drive by. Wear the Driven to Succeed T-shirts, bring some fun, handmade signs to display and join the Graduate Parade! Please arrive on campus before 5:30 p.m.; the parade begins at 6. Line the route close to where you normally work. If you work off campus, you’ll stand in an area just past Trutter/Millennium. Graduates will remain in their vehicles, but we can all wave our signs and let them know how proud we are of them!

If you need a T-shirt, some are still available. Just stop by the Information Desk in Menard Hall 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to pick one up. Contact amy.flynn@llcc.edu with any questions.

Driven to Succeed T-shirt pickup

LLCC Commencement 2021. Drivent to Succeed. LLCC.As a reminder, Driven to Succeed T-shirts to wear at the Graduate Parade will be available for pickup today, May 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Information Desk in A. Lincoln Commons.

Additional hours will also be available next week:

  • Monday, May 10, 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 11, 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 12, 8-11 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 13, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.

For those at Outreach Centers, T-shirts will be delivered to those locations.

Virtual LLCC Commencement, 7:30 p.m.

2020 Virtual Commencement Ceremony, Friday, May 15, 7:30 p.m. Moving Forward! Click here to view! Lincoln Land Community College.Join us this evening as we honor our graduates in the 2020 Virtual LLCC Commencement Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. The video will be available on YouTube and Facebook. The links are also available at www.llcc.edu/graduation along with more information.

“The commencement video will premiere on the date and time the live ceremony was originally scheduled, but graduates and their families can watch and enjoy it any time,” said Dr. Lesley Frederick, vice president of student services at LLCC. “Our theme for commencement this year is Moving Forward. We hope this virtual ceremony will provide a memorable celebration to commemorate the accomplishments and perseverance of our students in these unique times.”

Graduates were invited to submit photos of themselves, which will be displayed in the video as their names, degrees and certificates are read by Dr. Colin Suchland, LLCC professor of sociology.

The virtual event will also feature remarks from Dr. Charlotte Warren, LLCC President; Wayne Rosenthal, Chair, LLCC Board of Trustees; Travis McCullough, LLCC Student Trustee; and Thom Whalen, LLCC professor of art and recipient of the American Association of Community Colleges 2020 Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition. The 2020 LLCC Honored Alumni Award recipient and the Outstanding Graduate will also be acknowledged. Commencement will conclude with congratulatory messages from the Board of Trustees, faculty and staff.

All candidates eligible for graduation this year are also invited to return next year to participate in the live LLCC commencement ceremony planned for May 2021.

LLCC Virtual Commencement planned for May 15

LLCC’s 2020 Commencement is going virtual! LLCC is planning a virtual commencement ceremony this year on Friday, May 15. More information on viewing the ceremony online will be announced.

Eligible students should first fill out a graduation application on Logger Central. They will then be invited via a hyperlink to submit their information and upload a photo of themselves (headshot) no later than May 1, 2020.

Highlights of the event will be graduates’ names read and displayed along with a headshot, degree/certificate and any awards and honors. The event will also feature remarks from Dr. Charlotte Warren, LLCC President; remarks from Wayne Rosenthal, Chair – LLCC Board of Trustees; remarks from Travis McCullough, LLCC Student Trustee; acknowledgement of the 2020 Outstanding Alum, recognition of the 2020 Outstanding Graduate and remarks from Thom Whalen, professor of art/recipient of the American Association of Community Colleges 2020 Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition.

Those who wish to participate in the virtual 2020 commencement ceremony will receive a tassel, letter of congratulations and T-shirt at a later date. Also, all candidates eligible for graduation this year are also invited to participate in our 2021 commencement ceremony planned for May 2021.
