A front page story in the State Journal-Register April 1, “No let up seen in demand for warehouse workers”, featured the LLCC transportation, distribution and logistics program. Bob Howard, director of Truck Driver Training, instructor Doug Longstaff and several students were interviewed and photographed.

Scott Stallman, executive director, LLCC-Hillsboro/Litchfield/Taylorville, was interviewed by WTIM radio March 26 regarding the LLCC-Taylorville renovation project, the new Mac lab at LLCC-T, a new developmental math course, registration for summer and fall classes and the value of a community college education.

Kevin Lust, director, Small Business Development Center at LLCC, was featured in the April 2015 Entrepreneur magazine “Ask a Pro” column.

Epicuriosity 101 in the SJ-R food page March 18 was written by Jay Kitterman, Culinary Institute consultant, and featured Persian New Year and Easter recipes. A Persian New Year dinner, presented by the Culinary Institute and prepared by Taibeh Hosseinali, professor, teacher education and assessment director, will be held this evening.

Epicuriosity 101, a new weekly food column in the SJ-R, debuted Wednesday, March 11. The first column, “Welcome to the LLCC Kitchen,” was written by Marnie Record, workforce specialist. Subsequent columns will be written by Jay Kitterman, consultant to the Culinary Institute, and Nancy Sweet, culinary operations manager.

Lorie McDonald, director, LLCC-Litchfield and Hillsboro, was featured the story, “Lorie McDonald is now director at LLCC” in the Journal-News March 9.

Lynn Whalen, executive director, PRM, was interviewed for an upcoming story in the Springfield Business Journal on nursing degrees. Photos were also taken of Professor Janice Badgett and nursing students for the story.

Marnie Record, workforce specialist, was interviewed for this story featured in the State Journal-Register March 1 on the 12th annual Composting Symposium held Feb. 24 in the Trutter Center.

Wendy Howerter, Ed.D., dean, District Learning Resources, wrote an essay for the March 1 State Journal-Register “Our Towns” page entitled, “Dual Credit: Making the most of the high school years.”

Brenda McGuire, LLCC-Beardstown site coordinator, was featured in an article in the Star Gazette (Beardstown) about speaking at a recent Exchange Club meeting.
