Annual Security and Fire Safety Report now available

Lincoln Land Community College is committed to assisting all members of the Lincoln Land Community College community in providing for their own safety and security. The annual security and fire safety compliance document is available on the LLCC Police Department website.

If you would like to receive a hard copy of the Annual Security Safety Report which contains this information, you can stop by the LLCC Police Department located in Sangamon Hall South, Springfield campus, or you can request that a copy be mailed to you by calling 217.786.2278.

The website and booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, fire safety, campus police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Lincoln Land Community College; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

This information is required by law and is provided by the Lincoln Land Community College Police Department.

PRACTICAL RESPONSE TO ACTIVE SHOOTERS
If you ever found yourself in an active shooter event, would you know what to do? As with any emergency situation, prior thought and planning play an immense role in our individual response to these highly stressful incidents.

Presented by members of the LLCC Police Department, this hands-on training will provide you with options regarding what to do during an active shooter incident, teach you how to do them, and then give you an opportunity to actually practice these newly learned skills in a supportive, non-stressful environment.

Important message from the Police Department regarding emergencies

Note: The link to the Police Department portal page is now working and documents are available.

With the beginning of a new term upon us, the Lincoln Land Community College Police Department would like to remind College staff and faculty to take a few minutes and refresh their memory in regard to what steps they need to take should an emergency situation occur on campus.

Some resources to help you include:
• Emergency Evacuation Maps – Posted in all classrooms and common areas on LLCC campuses, these maps depict routes of egress from your location, the location of the nearest Severe Weather Safe Areas, as well as the locations of Fire Alarm Pull Stations and Fire Extinguishers.
• Emergency Quick Reference Manuals – Posted in all classrooms and office areas [and available by request from the Campus Police Department], these handy reference guides provide quick and easy access to basic information concerning what to do in specific types of emergencies.
• Campus Emergency Response Manual (full text) – can be accessed by College employees at this portal site.

In addition, all faculty and administrators should review the guidelines for assisting physically disabled students/staff during an emergency. This information can also be found at the portal page listed above [in the third bullet point].

Keeping the Lincoln Land Community College campus community safe is a responsibility that rests with all of us, and on behalf of the LLCC Police Department, I thank you for your assistance!
