In the Career Development Services Office we are passionate about helping students choose and prepare for a career path. We are always looking for ways to connect students to all the services we provide! As you are developing your syllabi and preparing your classes for the spring semester, please keep in mind that we are available to come and speak to your class. Topics include: career exploration, interest inventories, resume writing, interviewing, job shadowing and internships. We can even arrange for your students to do the Career Cruising matchmaker during our visit and each student will receive a list of 40 possible careers based on their interests. We visit many classes each semester and would love to add yours to our list! Just e-mail MaryBethRay@llcc.edu to schedule a visit!

Silent Auction a success; thank you!
Career Development Services would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Silent Auction bigger and better than ever. We made $616.00 which will go directly into the Career Development Services Emergency Fund to help our students with the little emergencies that arise during the semester. This money is also used to help students purchase a computer from the Computer Banc. There are still some great items left that were not bid on, so we will do our traditional “Let’s Make a Deal” in the Menard hallway sometime in the next few weeks.
Mary Beth Ray, Director, Career Development Services
Career Development Services Silent Auction begins today!
The Career Development Services Silent Auction begins today, running from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Oct. 17-18 in the Robert H. Stephens Room. This year every bidder will be given a number to use when they place their bids. Only Career Development staff will know who is assigned which number. No more worries about outbidding your friends or boss!
Silent Auction needs volunteers; items still accepted!
The Silent Auction to benefit the Career Development Services emergency student fund is this Thursday and Friday and has more items than ever! Volunteers are needed to help with set up on Wednesday. Please contact Career Development Services (6.2210) if you can spare some time Wednesday. (You’ll also get a sneak preview of all the great donations!)
And, if you haven’t donated items yet, bring them by Career Development Services!
