Lesley Frederick, vice president, Student Services, was interviewed by WICS on the Illinois Veteran’s Grant and its cost to LLCC due to lack of funding from the state of Illinois.

NOTE: Due to an unfortunate camera angle taken by WICS, the three flagpoles in front of Menard look like one pole with the MIA flag on top. As we all know, there are three poles and our police department always follows proper flag etiquette.

Jim Ruppert, SJ-R sports editor, complimented the LLCC baseball fieldin the April 28 edition: “In my seemingly fruitless quest for the ultimate baseball park experience in Springfield, I have come upon what I have now deemed the best place for baseball in the city: Lincoln Land Community College’s Claude Kracik Field. The home of the Loggers has everything a local ballpark needs: the playing surface is well groomed and no longer holds water, the dugouts can accommodate both teams, there’s a place to park that’s safe, there’s a place to sit and watch, there’s a really good concession stand, there’s a terrific press box and the scenery is pretty nice too. They play good baseball at Kracik Field, too…”

FOX 55 did three live remotes from LLCC yesterday morning for the Good Day program. They interviewed LLCC student Tucker Aumann about Google Glass, which he is beta testing.

On FOX-55 Good Day Thursday morning between 7-9, LLCC student Tucker Aumann will talk about his work as a beta tester for Google Glass. He was interviewed on campus April 22. Also commenting on the device were students Ashley Lawrence, Byron Lewis and Anthony Hagele. Reporter Michelle London will do live remotes from LLCC Thursday morning, introducing the segments involving Tucker.

“Jazzin’ It Up with Jack and Friends,” a concert for special needs children organized by Jane Hartman and Jason Waddell, music faculty, was a rousing success Saturday morning, April 5. Children enjoyed performances by the LLCC Big Band and Stolen Moments, and played along using noisemakers and shakers. They also touched and played real band instruments at the instrument petting zoo.  Jane and Jason were interviewed by the State Journal Register and SO magazine, and Robin Ackman of the Finance Department and family were pictured in this article that ran Sunday, April 6.
