Each topic is presented by respected academic peers and covers timely and relevant topics in only 20 minutes — brief enough to fit busy schedules, but long enough to deliver valuable, actionable content.

LLCC Academic Innovation & eLearning spring 2021 professional development workshops are being offered in three different formats: online, live via Zoom and on-demand. Workshops cover both teaching topics and instructional technology tools. There are also many opportunities, both live and on-demand, to learn to use the new Canvas learning management system. FSI Conference, May 19

Save the date for the FSI Conference on Wednesday, May 19. The event will once again be held virtually through Zoom. More information is available at http://conferences.illinois.edu/fsi/index.html.

FSI: At the Intersection of Teaching, Learning, and Technology is an annual conference that brings educators and instructional-technology professionals together each May. Attendees come from across Illinois and as far away as Canada. The conference features keynote presentations, networking, and hands-on training on the use of modern communication and information technologies in education.

Upcoming conferences from ILCCO and NISOD

ILCCO Growing Online Learning Conference, Feb. 16-18

A reminder that the Illinois Community Colleges Online (ILCCO) will be holding the Growing Online Learning Conference next week from Feb. 16-18. Registration for ILCCO Growing Online Learning Conference is still open.

The theme this year is “TLC: Teaching, Learning, and Caring.” The keynote presentation will be “COVID Fatigue: A Trauma-Sensitive Approach to Moving Forward” and will be conducted by wellness and student services staff from multiple community colleges. This is a free online conference for Illinois community colleges, but seats are limited.

NISOD International Conference, April 28-30

Internal Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence. NISOD. Virtual. April 28-30, 2021.LLCC Academic Services has purchased an institutional license for NISOD’s 2021 International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence to be held virtually April 28-30. The institutional registration allows all Lincoln Land Community College employees to register at no cost for this event.

Registering for the conference will allow you to engage in 70 live sessions, three general sessions, as well as a series of pre-recorded sessions, and countless opportunities to connect with colleagues throughout the event. In addition, you will have access for 12 months to watch sessions you may have missed during the live event.

All you need to do to participate without cost is register for the NISOD conference using your college email address.

This week the Faculty-to-Faculty Support Team is hosting its first Virtual Faculty Break Room today, Feb. 10, and Dr. Chris McDonald will present “Videos in Online and Remote Classes” on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m.
