The Canvas Teacher app allows instructors the ability to facilitate their courses, both inside and outside of the classroom, in the palm of their hand. Grading, communicating with students and editing/publishing assignments can easily be handled using Canvas Teacher. The Teacher app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

FSI Conference proposals due March 4

The FSI Conference will be held May 17-18 in Champaign. This year’s conference theme is “Back to the Future: 25 Years of FSI.” Presentation proposals are due March 4. Presentation formats include: pre-conference workshop, facilitated session, roundtable session, panel session, interview with an expert (fireside chat) session, technology demonstration and poster.

Join today’s Academic Innovation & eLearning workshop on “Flipping the Classroom: Rethinking What to Cover in Class and How ‘Class-Time’ Is Used” from 3:30-4:30 p.m. via Zoom.

This session will discuss why Becky Miller, assistant professor of psychology, decided to “flip” her classroom pre-COVID and why she will keep it flipped after COVID. A discussion on the pros and cons of this method, strategies used (for remote and F2F), lessons learned and student feedback on the change.
