There are still a few time slots to be filled for Welcome Week volunteers to greet and assist students next week. At the “welcome table” in A. Lincoln Commons, staff help students to a great start at LLCC by providing directions, handing out student planners and answering a multitude of questions.
If interested, please email Colleen Pittman (colleen.pittman@llcc.edu) or stop by the Information Desk to sign up. Welcome Week Fall 2014

A message from the family of Jim Van Kleek
To all LLCC family: I call all of you family because you were all so supportive of Jim in his battle with pancreatic cancer. From Day 1, many of you sent cards, flowers and well wishes to Jim. They brightened his days and we kept every card and message sent. When the cancer came back and he knew he could no longer work, he was devastated. He loved his job and he loved all of you. I know he missed going from office to office just to see how everyone was doing. He is truly missed by our family and I know there’s a little hole out there at Lincoln Land knowing he won’t be walking those halls again.
You all made Jim still feel needed up until the day he died and to Dave Green and Rhonda Phillips: thank you for coming to see Jim and giving him that wonderful “resolution” in his name. And to the rest: Dr. Warren, Eileen T. and on and on (too many to list), thank you and love to you all.
The family of James Van Kleek

Truck/crane in front of Commons this afternoon; will not block entrances
This afternoon, we anticipate having a truck/crane in front of the Commons to lift a 4,000 lb. piece of equipment on to the roof of Sangamon Hall. We will not be blocking the entrances to the Commons or Sangamon Hall. This “lift” is associated with the upgrading of our Variable Frequency Drives at Sangamon, Menard and Cass. These drives allow us to control the air movement of individual spaces serviced by our HVAC systems. As always, we appreciate your patience.
If you have any questions, please call 6-9605.
