According to Truman Flatt, the Toronto Road resurfacing project contractor, the entire Toronto Road & 11th Street project is now scheduled to be complete on Aug. 28. The contractor president said they would do their best to minimize the impact on traffic next week during the first week of classes. Faculty, staff and students should prepare for traffic delays if traveling to campus via Toronto Road.
There will be lane closures on I-55 from mile post 89 (one mile south of Toronto Road) to mile post 77 (approx. 5 miles north of the Farmersville exit) for a resurfacing project beginning Aug. 24. The project is anticipated to run until Oct. 9.
Also, the Union Pacific RR Crossing on IL Route 29 will be closed from Aug. 24-Oct. 24, for the high speed rail project.
