All faculty and staff are encouraged to bring an item from the list below to convocation on Friday, Aug. 17 to help the LLCC Food Pantry stock its shelves. All food items must not be expired, and single serve/individual portion items are preferred. To learn more about the food pantry, please contact LLCC Student Life by visiting the office located in the lower level of Menard Hall, calling 786-2241 or going to www.llcc.edu/food-pantry-list.

Food item donations:

  • Mac and cheese cups
  • Tuna/Chicken salad ready-to-eat kits
  • Easy peel opening cans of soup (microwave ready)
  • Ready-to-eat pasta meals (microwave ready)
  • Trail mix
  • To-go peanut butter cups
  • Cereal/oatmeal – single serving size
  • Protein and granola bars
  • Ready-to-eat rice meals
  • Juice (single servings)

The food pantry is also in need of plastic shopping bags and disposable bowls and utensils.

Convocation Aug. 17

Convocation for faculty and staff will be held Friday, Aug. 17, in Cass Gym, beginning with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and the program at 9 a.m.

Welcome Tom Sidener!

Tom SidenerPlease join us in welcoming Tom Sidener who recently joined LLCC as assistant professor of computer programming/networking. Previously, he served as director of information technology services at two area hospitals and taught for more than 12 years at UIS delivering online and in-class courses. He holds a master’s degree in computer science.

IT changing password management from WebAdvisor to a cloud solution

The college is switching our password management away from WebAdvisor to a Microsoft cloud solution on Monday, Aug. 13. The first time you access Microsoft Office 365 on the web browser (www.office.com), you will be prompted to provide a secondary email address, a cell phone number or some answers to security questions. These will be used later to send you codes to verify your identity in the event you need to change your password in the future.

ALL summer kickoffLaurel Bretz, director of community education, and members of the LLCC’s Academy of Lifelong Learning (ALL) were interviewed at the ALL summer kickoff event (pictured) Aug. 8 for an upcoming story in the Illinois Times.

The LLCC Child Development Center was featured in a video shoot Aug. 8 by Community Connection Point, which will be using the video to promote sustaining quality in child care centers through accreditation. Laurie Rhodes, director, along with Anita Glydewell, Mary Beth Ponser and Joanne Thomas were interviewed for the video.

New 2018-19 LLCC catalog now live

LLCC’s new 2018-2019 Catalog is now live and available for use. The new catalog page features a drop down box in the upper right corner to access previous catalogs, and various sections of the new catalog have links on the left side of the page.

The link to the catalog is found on the LLCC homepage by hovering over the “Academics” tab at the top and clicking “Catalog” in the drop down menu.

Any questions about the new catalog may be directed to Lindee Hall, curriculum and catalog technician.

Please note: PRM and IT personnel are currently working to manually update all program pages on the LLCC website with links to the program pages in the new catalog. Your patience is appreciated.
