The Federal Emergency Management Agency, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission, is planning on conducting a nationwide test of the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) and Emergency Alert System (EAS) on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 beginning at 1:18 p.m. CDT. The test will assess the operational readiness of the infrastructure for distribution of a national message and determine whether improvements are needed. The test was originally planned for Sept. 20, 2018 but has been postponed until Oct. 3, 2018 due to ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Florence. Read more. Input on new Facilities Master Plan
The college is planning an update to the Facilities Master Plan. Pending Board of Trustees approval today, Demonica Kemper Architects (DKA) will conduct meetings with various departments the first week of October on the new plan.
There are two ways for LLCC employees to provide input in the master planning process. One, you should be asked to share your thoughts and ideas with the leadership of your department/division through meetings or completing the questionnaire (below) via email. Secondly, the Campus Climate Team will be meeting with DKA as part of the master planning process. You may provide your thoughts and ideas to any member of the Campus Climate Team: Kyla Kruse (chair), Kim Elder, Lucas Ostendorf, Jacob Deters, Becky Parton, Dr. Deanna Blackwell, Dr. Deborah Brothers, Danyle Watkins, Esteban Cruz, Shelby Bedford, Nicole Ralph, Tisha Miller, Tim Ervin, Darla Cochran, Nick Ferreira and Ben Roth.
