In addition, the LLCC Computer Science Academy and Dance Club: Express Your Seoul are “Teaming up for Taylorville” by co-sponsoring a jeans day on Dec. 13 to help raise funds for Taylorville tornado recovery efforts. To participate, please bring a $5 minimum donation to LLCC Student Life.

These two clubs will also be collecting items needed for recovery efforts in Taylorville from 1-3 p.m. on Dec. 13 in the student union. You can drop items off on your way to the holiday party! The following items are being requested (new preferred):

  • blankets
  • work gloves
  • gloves
  • winter hats
  • toothpaste
  • tooth brushes
  • toiletries
  • flashlights
  • trash bags

Taylorville City Hall has stressed that they do not need any clothes. The Taylorville Food Pantry is full; however, they will still take non-perishable food items and place them in storage.

LLCC-Taylorville resumes normal operations

LLCC-Taylorville resumes normal operations today, Dec. 4, after being closed Monday due to storm damage in the Taylorville area. Taylorville students impacted by Saturday’s tornadoes who are unable to attend classes have been asked to contact their instructors.

Flags at half-staff

The U.S. flag and the state flag are being flown at half-staff until sunset on Sunday, Dec. 30 in honor of Former President George H.W. Bush.

CQI session coming up Feb. 8!

Staff updates

The following LLCC staff members have accepted new positions at the college:

Shanda ByerStarting Jan. 1, Shanda Byer will be LLCC’s new associate vice president, enrollment services. She has been with the college since 1998, currently serving as the director, financial aid.

 

 

 

Jessie BlackburnJessie Blackburn, academic success professional in the LLCC Center for Academic Success, has accepted an assignment to serve as interim director, LLCC-Litchfield beginning Dec. 3. She has been with LLCC for four years. Jessie’s phone at LLCC-Litchfield will be 786-3441.
