Graduate Parade information for faculty/staff

The Graduate Parade route enters campus from the main entrance at the intersection of Shepherd and Toronto Roads. Head east from entrance. Take first right and head south. Turn left in front of the Workforce Careers Center, heading east. Pass the Trutter Center and Montgomery, Logan and Mason Halls. Then turn left (north). Then take the first left , and head west passing Millennium and Trutter centers. Then turn right, heading north. Follow until road T's. Then turn left to follow main road out of campus.It’s commencement week, and LLCC will hold an outdoor Graduate Parade on Thursday, May 13, at 6 p.m. All LLCC employees are invited to participate and should arrive on campus no later than 5:30 p.m. Campus roads/entrances will be shut down around that time to prepare for the parade. Employees will line the parade route (outlined in image to the right). Ideally, employees will be near the area where they “live” on campus (employees who primarily work in the Workforce Careers Center will be on the sidewalk in front of that building, etc.) Employees who usually work in Cass, Menard and Sangamon, and the Outreach Centers and other off-campus locations, will be assigned to the area where the parade is preparing to exit campus (just past Trutter/Millennium). All employees should wear masks, maintain appropriate social distancing and wear the “Driven to Succeed” T-shirts ordered through PRM. Employee participants are also encouraged to make signs congratulating the graduates, but should do so at limited expense (no professional banners, etc.) We will have decorations with  “Congrats Grads” banners at the campus entrance. It is also important to note there is no stopping of parade traffic. To ensure appropriate COVID protocols and maintain safe social distancing, graduates and their guests will be instructed to remain in their vehicles for the duration of the parade.

Rain date for the Graduate Parade is Saturday, May 15 at 10 a.m. Participants would need to arrive by 9:30 a.m. if that occurs.

LLCC Commencement 2021. Drivent to Succeed. LLCC.As a reminder, Driven to Succeed T-shirts to wear at the Graduate Parade are available for pickup at the Information Desk in A. Lincoln Commons during the following times:

  • Monday, May 10, 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 11, 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 12, 8-11 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 13, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.

For those at Outreach Centers, T-shirts will be delivered to those locations.
