October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Every1 knows Some1. Domestic Violence Awareness MonthThis month, LLCC is partnering with Sojourn Shelter & Services, Crisis Center Foundation and the national #Every1KnowsSome1 campaign, which emphasizes that everyone knows someone affected by domestic violence, whether they realize it or not.

Domestic violence affects people from all walks of life, regardless of gender, orientation, socioeconomic status, age, race or nationality. High rates of domestic violence are not private, individual problems; they require community solutions and systems change.

We all have a part in stopping it. The first step is recognizing what domestic violence is and saying something if you see it happening. By acknowledging this reality and standing together as a united front, we can address the root causes of domestic violence and create safe communities where everyone can thrive.

Stop the Bleed Training

LLCC Health Professions is offering two “Stop the Bleed” sessions on Oct. 4 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. or 1-2 p.m. in Logan Hall, Room 1112. The class will cover how and when to manage life altering bleeding as well as time to practice the skills presented. This training goes hand in hand with the “Stop the Bleed” kits that have been added to all the AED locations across the campus and outreach centers. Space is limited, so sign up for a “Stop the Bleed” session early.

Annual Security Report: Notice of Availability

Lincoln Land Community College is committed to assisting all members of our campus community in providing for their own safety and security. The annual security compliance document is available on the LLCC Police Department website at: https://forms.llcc.edu/documents/2024-2025_LLCC_Annual_Security_Report.pdf.

If you would like to receive a hard copy of the Annual Security Safety Report which contains this information, you can stop by the LLCC Police Department located in Sangamon Hall South, Springfield campus, or you can request that a copy be mailed to you by calling 217-786-2278.

The website and report contain information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, fire safety, campus police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Lincoln Land Community College; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

This information is required by law and is provided by the Lincoln Land Community College Police Department.

LLCC Open House, Oct. 14

Share the news, LLCC’s fall Open House is Monday, Oct. 14, 2-5 p.m. at the Springfield campus and Jacksonville, Taylorville and Litchfield Outreach Centers.
