As an update to the ongoing paving on the main campus in Springfield:

• Sealing the entirety of Lots 14, 17, 18 and drive/parking area south of Cass Gym has been completed. It is acceptable to drive on this new surface; however, it will not have any parking lot lines painted for a few weeks. Please make sure to park in an orderly manner if using any of these three lots in the coming weeks.
• Replacing existing regulatory signs (stop, yield, turn, parking, etc.) has begun. Some signs have been removed, and some are yet to be removed. Please use caution as you navigate campus as the signage replacement is ongoing.

As a reminder, contractors will be starting work in June to remove and replace the concrete drive east of Menard Hall. This will take the loading dock drive out of service for the entire month of June.

Starting on May 15, paving contractors will be working on main campus in a few areas throughout the summer.

• Removal of existing fence, adding new curbs and repaving Lots 3 and 4
• Miscellaneous crack and joint filing throughout most parking lots

Over spring break contractors began work on the first floor of Menard Hall to renovate the student services area including the eight adjacent classrooms. A construction barrier is installed to isolate the construction area from the rest of the building. Anyone on campus will continue to have access through A Lincoln Commons to Menard Hall on the first floor. If entering Menard Hall from the east side of the building, the southern most entrance only allows entry to the second floor via the stairs by the vending machines. The second entrance on the east side of Menard Hall still allows both first and second floor access. We anticipate this barrier to be in place for the next 10 to 12 months. Signs will be posted alerting people to the construction area. Please use caution and follow all signs, caution tape, cones, barricades and barriers in this area. Starting today, Oct. 28, contractors are working on parking lot light poles at several locations on the Springfield campus:

• Light poles and heads will be removed and replaced in Lots 17 and 18
• Light fixture heads will be replaced near the prairie/south campus entrance near the Workforce Careers Center
• Poles will be painted and new fixture heads installed in the Montgomery Hall parking lot
• Poles and fixtures will be installed along the one-way drive to the east of the Trutter Center.

The contractor will provide traffic control measures and directional signage during this time. Please use caution as you drive, park and walk in these areas. In the next two weeks, contractors will begin work in Millennium Center and the lower level of Sangamon Hall to create space for LLCC Student Services to move in advance of the larger renovation in Menard Hall in the coming months. Work in Millennium Center will be on the first and second floors in various locations. Work in the lower level of Sangamon Hall will be in the open area behind the LLCC Center for Academic Success desk (S0130). We have asked the contractor to perform disruptive activities outside each building when possible, but there will likely be minor disruptions over the course of the coming months. Contractors will begin work in Sangamon 2313 removing/replacing science casework and installing new flooring on June 15. We anticipate minimal dust and noise during the renovation. While the new epoxy floor coating is installed, there might be a few days of a small (harmless) odor as the product cures. Any dust, noise and odor creation we anticipate to be complete by the end of June. Contractors will begin work inside LLCC-Medical District to upgrade lighting, repair windows and install new flooring on May 16. We anticipate this work will be done in several phases as they move around the building. Please be sure to coordinate any events, classes, etc. with Medical District staff to be sure the room you need is available. We anticipate this work will last throughout the summer.
