LLCC’s Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program partnered with the Boys & Girls Club on Saturday for a Fit-For-Life event focused on fitness, nutrition and literacy. Funded in part by LLCC’s IDI grant, the event included first-year OTA students and two LLCC recruitment specialists.
Children and families participated in student-led games, a gardening activity, a 40-foot obstacle course bounce house and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament — highlighted by the raffle of a 6’4″ OTA student as a surprise teammate.
LLCC recruiters were on hand to provide application assistance and share information about college programs. The event gave OTA students hands-on experience while promoting wellness and healthy living in the community.
