Faculty Book Club Meets this Wednesday

Join us this Wednesday, April 16, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Sangamon Hall, Room 1103 for the final session in our spring faculty book club centered on “Inclusive Teaching: Strategies for Promoting Equity in the College Classroom,” by Kelly A. Hogan and Viji Sathy. This insightful book provides practical strategies to create more inclusive and equitable learning environments. We’ll delve into the key concepts and discuss how to implement these ideas in our own classrooms, with emphasis on intentional course design and inclusive classroom interactions. Other possible topics of discussion include strategies for engaging diverse learners, fostering inclusive group work and providing effective feedback. By addressing issues of privilege and implicit bias, we can create equitable learning environments where all students feel valued and supported. Our session will be led by Becky Miller, professor, psychology.

Wednesday’s session will cover chapters 5, 6 and 7.

Registration is encouraged.
