LLCC’s Workforce Careers Center is again the location for the Illinois State Fair Wine Competition, which is currently underway. The Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association and the Illinois Department of Agriculture are evaluating  commercially-made wines as well as home-crafted wines. All the gold-medal winning wines will be considered for top awards, including Best of Show and Governor’s Cup trophies for Illinois-grown red, white, rosé, fruit, and dessert/sparkling wines. The competition, which is not open to the public, continues through Wednesday.
