Please encourage students to enter this year’s Paul Simon Essay Contest. An essay of 500 words or less on the topic “How my community college changed my life” gets students entered to win cash and other cool prizes, courtesy of the LLCC Foundation and Bookstore. The local winner will be entered in the statewide competition for the chance to win a $500 scholarship. Students can schedule appointments in the LLCC Writing Center to get help with their essays. Students can help fellow students this holiday season by donating change during textbook buyback to the LLCC Foundation’s Pay It Forward Fund. Change can be placed in “tip” jars located in the LLCC Bookstore today through Dec. 13.

The LLCC Press and LLCC Bookstore will host former Professor of Physics Dave Sykes for a book signing in A. Lincoln Commons today, Sept. 5, from 2-4 p.m. Dave will be signing copies of his book titled “The Clouds of Utopia” published earlier this year by the LLCC Press with the cover designed by Greg Walbert, graphic design manager. Bookstore closed June 26 and 27
The LLCC Bookstore will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, June 26 and 27, for the annual audit and physical inventory. All bookstore services will be suspended during this time; however, online ordering will remain available. Bookstore operations will open again on Monday, July 1.
