LLCC has partnered with Memorial Medical Center to provide a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic on the main campus. This vaccination clinic is available to all college employees and students. It will be held on Thursday, May 13, 9 a.m. to noon in A. Lincoln Commons. The vaccine that will be administered is the Pfizer vaccine. This vaccine requires two rounds of vaccination, so the second vaccine clinic date will take place on Thursday, June 3. If you have not yet been vaccinated and want to take advantage of this convenient opportunity, simply schedule your vaccination time for the clinic.

Join us for an informal book discussion of Hope Jahren’s memoir Lab Girl, the NEA Big Read of Sangamon County’s selection for this year. Now that you have read the book, come and participate in the conversation, share your favorite parts, or pose your burning questions for the group. The beauty of a book discussion is that it allows the opportunity for individuals to bond with others over a shared experience and thereby deepen the learning experience. LLCC Library hopes you will join the virtual book discussion held virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 3:30-4:30pm.
Details for joining the book discussion:

LLCC is partnering with SHIELD Illinois to provide saliva based COVID-19 testing for our LLCC community. These tests are free of charge and are designed to identify positive cases prior to the onset of symptoms (if you are symptomatic, we still do not want you coming onto campus). This testing program will begin today, April 19, and will be conducted on the south side of the Trutter Center. Testing will be conducted on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and individuals will get their test results by the next business day. Please note that individuals should not eat, drink (including water), chew gum, smoke or use tobacco products within 60 minutes of providing a saliva sample. While we are not requiring employees to be tested, if you are on campus it is strongly encouraged that you be tested once a week. This is just an additional measure to help ensure the health and safety of our campus community.
In order to be tested, you will need to do the following:
Register on the SHIELD IL portal account: Portal.shieldillinois.com
Use agency code: bhzrx9j1-emp
This is the site where you can go if you want to schedule an appointment for testing (although an appointment is not required) and to view your test results. Additional information regarding the testing program: Employee SHIELD Testing Instructions.
