The Center for Academic Success will be hosting final exam prep seminars Dec. 6 and 8.
Topics include: developing a study plan; tips on how to study and how to answer objective, short answer and essay exam questions; managing test anxiety.

LLCC will host another COVID-19 vaccination clinic in A. Lincoln Commons Monday, Nov. 15, 8:30 to noon and 4-6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 16, 8:30 a.m. to noon. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available. If you received your first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine held at our last vaccination clinic (Oct. 18 and 19), you can get your second dose to become fully vaccinated. No appointment is necessary to participate in this vaccination clinic; walk-ins are welcome. The Pfizer booster shot is also available. Please note that this clinic cannot provide the vaccination to children in the 5-11 year age group.

Also, given your status as working in education, if you are fully vaccinated and received the Pfizer vaccine, the booster shot is also available at these clinics. To be eligible for the vaccination booster, the following qualifications must be met: You must be at least 18 years old; the booster shot must be administered at least six months after the last dose of the primary series (this is the 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine). The booster shot is only for individuals who have received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for their primary series.

Congratulations to the LLCC artists honored with awards Wednesday evening at the city-wide On My Own Time (OMOT) art exhibit. This year, 87 OMOT artists submitted 186 entries at 12 in-house exhibits in the Springfield area. LLCC employees were awarded two ribbons at the city-wide exhibit on display through Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Springfield Art Association, 700 N. 4th St. LLCC winners are: Basketry: Second Place – Lindee Hall, “Full of Love” and Photography, Second Place – Chris McDonald, “Curious Kit”

Bryan Goers joined the college as director, enrollment services on Nov. 1. He most recently served as the assistant dean of students, student engagement at University of Missouri. Bryan earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and a master of public affairs degree in public policy from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and he is currently working on a doctorate in education. The OMOT city-wide exhibit (which will display all pieces awarded 1st place) will be at the Springfield Art Association (SAA) Nelson Gallery, 700 North Fourth Street, Nov. 3-20. The citywide awards, as well as the citywide best of show award will be announced at a reception at the SAA on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
