EDU 220 Making a Difference project

Dr. Hosseinali and students holding the packed boxes for donationAs part of LLCC’s Education 220: Diversity of Schools and Society class, taught by Dr. Taiebeh Hosseinali, students were assigned to design and implement a community engagement project in which they could help make a difference in our community. This semester, students chose to collect hoodies, blankets, sweatshirts, etc. for children in foster care. To achieve their goals, they collected donations through Facebook groups, friends, churches and other organizations throughout Sangamon, Christian, Morgan, Menard, Macon and Cass counties. On Friday, Dec. 3, they sorted the donations by type and size, creating and coloring labels for the boxes, and then delivered the donations to the Family Services Center.
