Reserved for Phi Theta Kappa WinnerParking spot raffle

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is holding its first “Parking Spot Raffle” in over two years! The lucky winner will be able to park in the Phi Theta Kappa parking spot located near the southeast corner of Menard Hall for the remainder of 2022. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and will be on sale today, April 26, and tomorrow, April 27, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons. You can pay with cash or check (made out to LLCC). The winning ticket will be announced at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 28. If you have any questions, please contact Claire Gordon, Phi Theta Kappa coordinator.

Raising funds for Charity: Water

Charity: Water is an organization that brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. To learn more about this wonderful organization, go to charitywater.org. Our sympathy to Kayla Weitzel

We extend our sympathy to Kayla Weitzel, human resources associate, on the passing of her father, John Goodman, on April 9. A memorial gathering will be held at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield on April 16, 2-4 p.m., with a memorial service  at 4 p.m. The family will host a celebration of life at 6:30 p.m. at The Lake Press Club. Welcome Denise Bierman and John Freml

Denise Bierman has joined LLCC as purchasing coordinator. She recently retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. Originally from Lockhart, Texas, she was most recently stationed at Scott Air Force Base. Denise can be reached at denise.bierman@llcc.edu or 217-786-2482.

John Freml has been an adjunct humanities instructor at LLCC and is now also an instructional designer with LLCC Academic Innovation and eLearning. He previously worked at University of Illinois Springfield with its Center for Online Learning, Research and Service for eight years. He earned a master’s degree from University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s degree from Illinois College. John can be reached at john.freml@llcc.edu.

LLCC ready to assist students affected by Lincoln College closure

LC2LLCCLLCC has formed a response team made up of academic, financial aid and student success coaches to assist students from Lincoln College who reside in the LLCC district and may wish to transfer to LLCC.

“We want to help Lincoln College students from the LLCC district in any way we can during this challenging time so they can continue their academic programs,” said Dr. Charlotte Warren, LLCC president.

Lincoln College students who reside within the boundaries of the LLCC district (all or parts of 15 counties in central Illinois) may text 217-387-8585, call 217-786-2260 or email LC2LLCC@llcc.edu for assistance. LLCC will also have representatives at a college fair being held at Lincoln College on April 14.
