EAP Did You Know Campaign Continues

In partnership with Deer Oaks Employee Assistance Program, information will be shared about services available through the EAP program on a quarterly basis. This quarter’s topic is focused on family. Health and Wellness Info

All employees are welcome to participate in the self-defense course being held today from noon to 1 p.m. in the Trutter Center. Participants will learn three personal safety tips and three simple, easy to learn and recall, self-defense techniques to counter the most common real-life threats. All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win two free weeks of Krav Maga (self-defense lessons) from Amy Giles at Progressive Kenpo Karate.

Friday is National Wear Red Day in honor of Heart Health Month.

And congratulations to Julie Eason who was the winner of the Deer Oaks EAP Scavenger Hunt and the $50 gift card.

Final Day for the EAP Scavenger Hunt

Today is the final day to participate in the EAP Scavenger Hunt. To join the hunt, simply complete the Microsoft Form titled 2024 EAP Scavenger Hunt and click submit. The form can be found under the EAP section at the top of the Health and Wellness page along with additional instructions.

  •  The EAP Scavenger Hunt begins on Monday, Jan. 22. Visit the health and wellness page for more information and watch for final details in Monday’s LincIn.
  • A Journaling and Mindfulness session will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25 from noon-1 p.m. in the Trutter Center.
  • A self defense course will be offered on Tuesday, Jan. 30 from noon-1 p.m. in the Trutter Center.

EAP campaign begins next week

Next week will start the kickoff of the “Did You Know” campaign in conjunction with Deer Oaks EAP Services. Watch for the first quarterly “Did You Know” topic flyer. Also, employees will be able to participate in the EAP Scavenger Hunt for a chance to win a $50 gift card. More details, along with the form to participate in the scavenger hunt, will be made available on Monday, Jan. 22. Stay in the loop by adding this event, along with all other health and wellness events, by visiting the HR events calendar and clicking the calendar link to add the event to your calendar.

Join Mental Health American (MHA) for this engaging and insightful webinar designed to help you stay well and thrive during the colder months. Host Israa Nasir will guide you through an exploration of winter wellness, focusing on crucial aspects such as mental health, mood management and strategies for maintaining a positive outlook. Wellness screenings Oct. 4 and 19

There are two opportunities to take part in the wellness screening and flu shot clinics on campus — Tuesday, Oct. 4, and Wednesday, Oct. 19. All benefit-eligible employees may participate and those who complete the wellness screening will receive a $50 Visa gift card.

To register, please refer to the information emailed Sept 21.

There will also be an Employee Health & Wellness Fair on Oct. 4. All employees are encouraged to come by anytime between 8 a.m. and noon. Attendance will enter you into a drawing for great prizes including gift cards and a Fitbit SmartWatch!
