CSA holds 3D printing event

Attendees were treated to a live demonstration of a 3D printer in action, accompanied by presentations from guest speakers, including Dr. Carmen Allen, Thomas Sidener and Thomas Woods.

As a highlight of the occasion, the Computer Science Academy sponsored a giveaway, allowing a fortunate student to claim their very own 3D printer.

Cybersecurity presentation today, 2 p.m.

Join the LLCC Computer Science Academy today, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. for an insightful presentation by Greg Matejka, IT security and assurance manager at LLCC, as he shares his expertise in overseeing the college’s robust cybersecurity framework. This online cybersecurity presentation will take place via Microsoft Teams teleconference and is expected to run for approximately 30-45 minutes, followed by an engaging Q&A session.

Greg’s talk will not only delve into his pivotal role at the college but will also explore the cybersecurity landscape in today’s job market. While the Q&A session will provide an opportunity for addressing technical inquiries, the primary focus will be on the role and the cybersecurity framework that LLCC has embraced.

Computer Science Academy monthly meetings

The LLCC Computer Science Academy will be holding monthly meetings during the spring semester. Each meeting will be from 5:30-7 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month. Meetings focus on computer science topics not covered in the classroom, such as 3-D printing and robotics. Meetings are open to any student interested in computer science.
