Three career fairs held last week

LLCC held career fairs on campus this past Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, LLCC’s nursing program offered students with opportunities to connect with 15 leading health care providers and explore diverse pathways within the nursing profession. The Workforce Institute Career Fair was also held on Thursday with 62 employers and featured students in welding, HVACR, construction, truck driver training, electrical distribution linemen, automotive technology, diesel technologies, commercial electrical maintenance and industrial technology. The Info Tech Expo was held Friday and provided the opportunity for 16 employers to showcase advancements in technology and computer science and to connect students with careers in the IT industry.

Students seeking jobs or internships can network with over 70 employers. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their resume, dress professionally (business casual) and prepare a 30-60 second “elevator pitch” to market goals, education and job qualifications.

LLCC faculty might consider offering attendance at the career fair as a professional development opportunity or extra credit for students.

LLCC Career Services launches online job board

LLCC Job Board. Work opportunities for students and alumni.Local and regional employers with jobs available are invited to post them on a new online job board offered by LLCC Career Services. The LLCC job board aims to connect LLCC students and alumni with available jobs in the community.

Benefits to employers include free registration, unlimited job postings and direct access to LLCC student and alumni job seekers. The system can accommodate full-time and part-time job openings as well as internships and apprenticeships. LLCC Career Services will review and approve each new employer and job posting to ensure compliance with LLCC policies.

Students and alumni can review work opportunities and upload their resumes to apply for jobs or follow the employer’s specific application instructions.

LLCC Career Services launches online job board

LLCC Career Services announces the LLCC Career Coach Job Board. The service is part of the Career Coach website. It is an easy-to-use, free online resource designed to provide work opportunities for LLCC student and alumni job seekers.

Local and regional employers can easily register online and post work opportunities for students and alumni. LLCC job seekers can quickly and easily view work opportunities and submit their resumes directly to employers. Career Services will review and approve each new employer and job posting to ensure compliance with LLCC policies.
