LLCC-Taylorville to observe LLCC’s 50th anniversary Tuesday

LLCC-Taylorville is celebrating the college’s 50th anniversary at its Community Partnership Group meeting Tuesday, May 23, at 9:30 a.m., with a special program including remarks by LLCC President Charlotte Warren, Ph.D. and a proclamation presentation by Taylorville Mayor Bruce Barry. In addition, Taylorville Alderman Earl Walters will announce a street name change from Lee Norse Drive to Lincoln Land Way.“Forward: An Anniversary Exhibition” featuring 50 years of photos and history of LLCC also will be on display.

LLCC-Beardstown holds 50th anniversary event

LLCC-Beardstown celebrated the college’s 50th anniversary with a Beardstown Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event last evening. “Forward: An Anniversary Exhibition” was on display and a special presentation included remarks by LLCC President Dr. Charlotte Warren, who introduced LLCC Board Chair Dennis Shackelford, and a proclamation presentation by Beardstown Mayor Leslie Harris.

“The Three Musketeers” presented by LLCC Theatre begins tomorrow

LLCC Theatre, in collaboration with Theatre in the Park, presents Ken Ludwig’s “The Three Musketeers” Friday through Sunday, May 19, 20 and 21 and Thursday through Saturday, May 25, 26 and 27. The play begins at 8 each evening at Theatre in the Park at Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site in Petersburg. Pre-show entertainment begins at 7 p.m. in the indoor theatre, and at approximately 7:20 p.m., Director Mark Hardiman, professor of theatre, will present a brief talk about the production.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and $10 for children under the age of 12 and may be purchased online at theatreinthepark.net or by calling 632-5440 or 800.710.9290. The box office is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 5 to 8 p.m. on show nights.

Ludwig’s adaptation of the famous novel by Alexander Dumas is a hilarious, rollicking and suspenseful adventure. The retelling of the musketeers’ story involves a young man, D’Artagnan, who sets off to join the musketeers. His sister, Sabine, comes along, joining in the swashbuckling and proving her sword-fighting abilities.

LLCC food pantry needs donations

The LLCC Food Pantry, located in the Student Life Office, lower level, Menard Hall, is in need of donations. The mission of the LLCC Food Pantry is to provide support to Lincoln Land Community College students in the area of supplemental health and wellness by providing reliable access to a sufficient quantity of nutritious food. Below is a list of items that are either out-of-stock or highly desired at this time. All food items must not be expired and single serve/individual portion items are preferred. Employee Recognition Ceremony wine bottle decorations available

New hours for Placement & Testing

Placement & Testing has begun observing new testing/office hours for summer.  We expect to make changes to fall hours at a later date.  PLEASE NOTE the changes listed below:

OFFICE HOURS:  Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

WALK-IN HOURS (LLCC PLACEMENT TESTING ONLY):

Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

No LLCC placement testing will be started after 4 p.m. and all testing must be done by 6 p.m.

Any other testing, to include placement testing for another college, is done by appointment only. Please contact Stephanie Cummings at 6-4672 or stephanie.cummings@llcc.edu with any questions.

Fleet vehicles now equipped with I-PASS transponders

All LLCC fleet vehicles are now equipped with I-PASS transponders – a prepaid electronic toll collection system that allows you to automatically pay tolls as you drive. These transponders will allow you to use the I-PASS lanes on every toll lane on the Illinois Tollway. It can also be used on the Chicago Skyway, the Indiana Toll Road and any roadways that use the E-ZPass system (northeastern US only http://www.e-zpassiag.com/about-e-zpass/where-can-i-use-it ). For all other tollways, please be prepared to pay the toll onsite before passage. Please contact the Finance Department if you have any questions.
