End-of-month deposits due July 27
The deadline to submit your deposits to the Finance Department is today, July 27 at noon. As a reminder, if you’ve taken in funds, it is necessary to submit them and corresponding deposit slips to the Finance Department on a daily basis.
Please hand the deposit to Elyse Calhoun, Libby Elder or Robin Ackman as monies should not be left unattended.

Reminder about media calls
The Public Relations & Marketing staff recently conducted a crisis communication exercise that re-emphasized the importance of referring all media requests to PRM. As a reminder, in the event that you receive a call from the media regarding LLCC, please route that call to PRM, specifically Lynn Whalen (6.2219) or Kyla Kruse (6.4918) per board policy 12.2. Calling all artists! “On My Own Time” slated for September
This fall, LLCC will once again be participating in the Springfield Area Arts Council’s On My Own Time program. This unique program provides LLCC faculty and staff an opportunity to display original art they have created outside the office, truly, on your own time. There will be an in-house exhibit at LLCC and the city-wide exhibit at the Springfield Art Association showcasing first place award-winning artwork from all participating businesses, agencies and institutions.
LLCC’s in-house exhibit will be featured this year in the L. Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum. Mr. Trutter was a Springfield architect with a lifelong love of art, even taking classes here at LLCC well into his 70s. This exciting exhibit will showcase LLCC’s OMOT works, some of Mr. Trutter’s artwork created on his own time as well as a few pieces of the Trutter world collection. The LLCC community is invited to the opening exhibit which will be held Thursday, Sept. 21.
Faculty and staff may enter up to three artworks each, created since 2014, for a fee of $5 per entry. The fee assists with costs of the OMOT program. Artwork and registration fees will need to be submitted by Wednesday, Sept. 6. (That’s just a little more than a month away!)
So before the summer ends, use your imagination and skills to create new artwork! A detailed list of the categories as well as the rules are attached.

Board of Trustees to meet July 26
The LLCC Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday, July 26, at 5:15 p.m. in the R.H. Stephens Room of Menard Hall.
Closing reception with artist Kyle Kirkpatrick July 26
Campus and community members are invited to a closing reception with artist Kyle Kirkpatrick on Wednesday, July 26 from noon-1:30 p.m. at the James S. Murray Gallery. The gallery, located on the second floor of Menard Hall, is featuring “The Living Tributary,” a ceramic art exhibit by Kirkpatrick, until July 27. View the work, read the artist’s statement presented in the form of a riddle-like poem and try to solve the riddle!
Kirkpatrick studied ceramics under LLCC’s Michelle Coakes and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from SIU Edwardsville. He continues to study and practice where he can, including some additional time at LLCC.
