Solar panel installation at LLCC-Jacksonville begins Aug. 5

Starting on Monday, Aug. 5, contractors will begin installing solar panels on the roof at LLCC-Jacksonville. We anticipate this work will take approximately 30-45 calendar days to complete. Contractors will be sure to maintain access to the building at all times. Please use caution and be aware of all construction traffic and materials being lifted up on to the roof during this time period. Deadline tomorrow noon for deposits to Finance Dept.

The deadline to submit your deposits to the LLCC Finance is Tuesday, July 30 before noon. Please hand the deposit to Nichole Coffey or Robin Ackman as monies should not be left unattended.

As a reminder, if you’ve taken in funds, it is necessary to submit them and corresponding deposit slips to the finance department on a daily basis.

LLCC one of 10 partner colleges in $4 million apprenticeship grant

A federal grant will allow the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) to serve more than 1,600 apprentices in pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs that will lead to employment in the information technology sector.

The $4.0 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, announced earlier this month, will support the development and expansion of apprenticeship programs in partnership with 10 Illinois community colleges, including LLCC, that represent the geographic and demographic diversity of the state.

LLCC will receive $360,000 over the next four years from the grant.

Montgomery Hall and Cass Gym lots closed starting today

As a part of the ongoing site paving project on the Springfield campus, contractors will need to close the entire lot in front of Montgomery Hall and the entire lot behind Cass Gym to replace paving starting on Wednesday, July 24. It is anticipated that that both lots will be closed for several days. Please make plans and allow time to park in other areas during this time. Please use caution and follow all construction traffic signs, cones/barrels and directions at all times.
