Information sessions on benefit options continue today

Monday kicked off open enrollment for benefit options. Zoom sessions are being offered to provide more information. Two were provided yesterday, and the following sessions are being offered over the next couple of days. They will be recorded and made available for viewing if you are not able to attend.

All benefit-eligible employees must access the new enrollment system, review their profiles and dependent information, review options available and make selections. To access the system, go to the HR Portal page and click on the PlanSource-Benefits Enrollment Platform icon in the top section. The system uses LLCC login credentials. Employees have until Thursday, June 10 to review options and make selections. HR is available to assist along the way.  If you would like to schedule a one-on-one Teams call to walk you through the platform, please contact HR.

Jessie Blackburn, director, LLCC-Litchfield, and Christine Marietta, administrative assistant, LLCC-Litchfield, represented LLCC at the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce Art in the Park event on Saturday, May 1. LLCC-Litchfield sponsored artist Chris Steiner who attended LLCC from fall 1992 to fall 1993.

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at LLCC

LLCC has partnered with Memorial Medical Center to provide a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic on the main campus. This vaccination clinic is available to all college employees and students. It will be held on Thursday, May 13, 9 a.m. to noon in A. Lincoln Commons. The vaccine that will be administered is the Pfizer vaccine. This vaccine requires two rounds of vaccination, so the second vaccine clinic date will take place on Thursday, June 3. If you have not yet been vaccinated and want to take advantage of this convenient opportunity, simply schedule your vaccination time for the clinic.

Employee Recognition Week

Employee Recognition Week began yesterday, and every day this week, the college is celebrating a different group of people in recognition of their hard work and dedication. We will celebrate employees who achieved milestone anniversaries during fiscal year 2021, as well as those who have or will be retiring this fiscal year. Employee Recognition Week will wrap up with a live Zoom presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards on Friday, May 7, at 11 a.m. Check LincIn for a Zoom link to this event. (It will be be recorded, for those unable to attend the live presentation.)

Loggers’ esports Rocket League team wins national championship!

Congratulations to our LLCC Esports Rocket League team on becoming the NJCAAE spring 2021 national champions! After 12 weeks of competitve play among 43 community colleges, the Loggers gave a dominant performance over the weekend to bring home our second straight Rocket League title. The team once again finished their season 13-0.

Congratulations to Rey De Castro

Congratulations to Rey De Castro, adjunct instructor of geographic information systems, who is a nominee for the Illinois Community College Trustees Association’s (ICCTA’s) 2021 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award! The recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award will be announced at ICCTA’s June 4 awards banquet in Bloomington-Normal.

Staff updates

LLCC recently divided the role of director of admission, records and registration into two positions: registrar and director, admission and registration. The college is currently advertising for the latter position.

Robin Ackman accepted the newly created position of registrar and began work May 1 in this role, heading up the LLCC Records office. She has been with the college since 1996, and previously served as director of admission, records and registration.

Shawn Allen has been promoted to records coordinator. She has been with LLCC for 16.5 years, most recently serving as student records evaluator.

Nina Koch has joined the records team as records specialist. She was previously a registration specialist and has been at LLCC since 1992.
