LLCC-Medical District spring massage clinics

LLCC-Medical District is currently scheduling appointments for spring massage clinics. LLCC Massage Therapy students will perform their clinical work using Swedish massage. Students are supervised by the clinic instructor, who is a licensed massage therapist.

  • Appointments are available for 60-minutes massages at 6 p.m. (March-June) and 8 p.m. (March 28-April 18).
  • Appointments are available for 90-minute massages at 7:30 p.m. (April 23-June 19).

Cost is $35 for a 60-minute massage and $40 for a 90-minute massage. Payment is due when the appointment is scheduled and is non-refundable. Please call 217-524-6749 to schedule your appointment!

“You Know?” student communication: Week of Feb. 19

You know? LLCCPlease join us in letting students know that commencement is around the corner.

Students who plan to earn their degree or certificate in spring/summer 2024, must apply for graduation. They can find the graduation application in LoggerCentral.

Caps and gowns, for those eligible to participate in commencement, go on sale March 27. Details will be emailed to their llcc.edu accounts. Information about the 2024 LLCC Commencement ceremony can be found on the graduation webpage.

 

Spring CCSSE Administration Dates

LLCC is participating in the online Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) during the spring 2024 semester. CCSSE is a national survey focused on teaching, learning and retention in community colleges. To learn more about CCSSE, visit www.ccsse.org.

The survey invitation will be distributed to students via an email, with a supporting Canvas announcement to increase awareness and accessibility.

LLCC Institutional Research and Effectiveness plans to launch the survey on Tuesday, Feb. 27, and the survey will remain open during most of March. If you interact with students, please encourage them to complete the CCSSE.

Homecoming week Tuesday Activities

LLCC Homecoming 2024Homecoming week is here, and LLCC Student Life is asking for your help in ensuring our events are a success! Volunteer opportunities include participating in the return of “Stump the Professor” trivia, calling bingo, serving pizza … and many more. All volunteers are welcome to participate in the activities and encouraged to get to know students and coworkers.

  • Lincoln Commons from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • No matter what your specialty, there will be a place for it! Stump the Professor trivia, Pictionary and generational lingo quizzes in addition to royalty voting.
  • Soft Pretzels with cheese will be served starting at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 21: It’s Homecoming! Let’s Have a Ball

  • Lincoln Commons from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Play a few games (i.e., arcade basketball, bingo) and don’t miss the last chance to vote for Homecoming Royals.
  • Fudge puppies will be served starting at 10:30 a.m.
  • 5:30 p.m. – Women’s Homecoming basketball game in Cass Gym.
  •  7:30 p.m. – Men’s Homecoming basketball game in Cass Gym.
    • LLCC Student Life, Athletics, Foundation and PRM are teaming up to host LLCC’s Homecoming games!
    • Royalty announced, shoot-out contests, SGA sponsored student section (w/ prizes!), Free meal tickets to first 200 attendees.

Richard Teeter and Sloan partner for real-world training

Sloan precision ag equipment trainingRichard Teeter, professor of agriculture, recently attended electrical and hydraulic diagnostic technical training through Sloan, one of the largest John Deere dealerships. “I will be incorporating this into my precision ag and fertilizer equipment classes,” he says. “Students will gain valuable knowledge in installing and troubleshooting precision ag equipment.” Teeter plans to purchase multi-meters and diagnostic training units to use in the classroom beginning this semester. Sloan has also offered to bring machinery to campus and host classes at Sloan’s local facilities for real-world training.

Kyla Kruse, chief communications officer, was interviewed by WICS Newschannel 20 on Monday, Feb. 19. WICS covered LLCC’s Open House, which drew more than 300 guests. Visitors spoke with faculty and staff, viewed exhibits, toured select areas of campus, learned about the basics of college and choosing a major, and could apply for admission.
