Bill Harmon, agriculture program coordinator, was interviewed by WLDS radio March 23 regarding the $18 million gift benefiting the ag program. Parts of the interview were used in a news story that day and the entire interview will be aired today.

Bill also wrote the LLCC essay for the State Journal-Register Sunday, March 25 entitled, “A gift today for the benefit of tomorrow.”

Jolene Adams, coordinator, LLCC Culinary Institute, was interviewed on WTIM’s morning talk show on Thursday, March 1.  She discussed community education culinary classes, College for Kids and the student run Bistro Verde.

The 12th annual Rube Goldberg competition for area 5th graders held at LLCC Feb. 24 was covered in this story in the State Journal-Register and also for an upcoming story in the Illinois Times. Approximately 500 individuals attended. Bill Bade, dean of math and sciences, was one of the organizers of the event.

LLCC athletics were also in the news last weekend: A look at the upcoming men’s baseball season in this SJ-R story along with a story featuring Katie McLean of the women’s softball team.

Today is Campus Visit Day!

Campus Visit Day at LLCC-Springfield, Feb. 19Please help us in welcoming prospective students and their families to campus today for Campus Visit Day! The morning session begins at 10 a.m. in the student union. Following presentations there and in the Robert H. Stephens Room, guests will tour campus and visit exhibits in A. Lincoln Commons until noon. The evening session runs from 5-7 p.m. and follows the same format. Please feel free to talk to any visitors you encounter about the advantages of enrolling at LLCC!

The event was the focus of the essay “Come see us at Campus Visit Day tomorrow” by Dr. Charlotte Warren, president, in the State Journal-Register Feb. 18.
