New mural at LLCC-Jacksonville honors Dr. Alonzo Kenniebrew

Mural on side of LLCC Jacksonville honoring Dr. Alonzo KenniebrewA new mural commissioned by Jacksonville Main Street has been installed on the side of LLCC-Jacksonville, 32 N. Central Park Plaza. The mural honors Dr. Alonzo H. Kenniebrew, the first African American to own and operate a hospital in the U.S. He ran New Home Sanitarium in Jacksonville for nearly 20 years in the early 1900s.
