LLCC was honored with the 2019 Volunteer of the Year award at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois Great Futures Gala Oct. 17. LLCC offered the Teen Career Launch Program for the third year in a row last summer, where Boys and Girls Club members learned about a variety of career fields and participated in hands-on activities. Receiving the award were Marina Wirsing, career development professional; Dr. Deanna Blackwell, director, TRIO Student Support Services; and Dr. Lesley Frederick, vice president, Student Services. They are shown with Michah Jackson, a Career Launch participant who was named “Youth of the Year” at the gala.
