LLCC to host new event, Health Care Expo, May 23 

Health Care Expo. Explore LLCC's excellent health careers programs! May 23, 6-8 p.m.LLCC’s many health care career programs will be showcased at the Health Care Expo Thursday, May 23, from 6-8 p.m. Prospective students are invited to learn about the wide variety of LLCC’s health care degree, certificate and short-term program opportunities.

The free event begins in the Trutter Center and registration is available at www.llcc.edu/healthcare-expo or by calling 217-786-2577. The event will include tours of LLCC’s health professions labs along with displays, presentations and opportunities to speak to health care program directors and obtain information on applying for admission.

“Many students first think of nursing when they consider a health care career,” said Dr. Cynthia Maskey, dean of health professions. “LLCC’s Health Care Center of Excellence offers nursing programs at three levels: registered nurse (RN); licensed practical nurse (LPN) and certified nursing assistant (CNA). In addition, we offer programs in occupational therapy assistant, radiography, surgical technology, central sterile service technician, respiratory care, neurodiagnostic technology, emergency medical services (EMR, EMT, A-EMT and paramedic), medical coding, and exercise and sports science.”

Also on display at the expo will be short-term, health related programs including dental assistant, medical assistant, CNA to medical assistant, phlebotomy technician, veterinary assistant, pharmacy technician and massage therapy.

“This expo is an outstanding opportunity for individuals interested in launching a health care career to explore all of LLCC’s excellent health care programs offered at an affordable price,” said Dr. Maskey.
