This week’s Academic Innovation & eLearning workshops

LLCC Academic Innovation & eLearning is offering a variety of workshops this semester on innovative teaching, internet accessibility and quality matters. Multiple open labs will also be offered. At these open labs, you can stop by to ask questions and receive one-on-one support with Blackboard, SoftChalk, Ally and AFEIS.

This week, the workshops listed below are being offered.

  • Introducing … YOU! – Monday, Jan. 28,  2:-2:50 p.m. in S0119. Learn the essential elements of a professor introduction and various ways to create an introduction, see how other instructors are introducing themselves and begin personalizing your own introduction. Register at http://bit.ly/2D0IO8x. Note: Current online faculty participating in the Online Proficiency Program can receive two points for successful completion of this workshop.
  • Creating Internet Accessible PDFs – Monday, Jan. 28, 3-3:50 p.m. in M2260. Review Ally color indicators and learn how to use the Adobe accessibility checker. Prior to attending, look at your Ally results for PDFs which have scores in the orange and red range, and bring these files with you.   • AEFIS Open Lab – Monday, Jan. 28, 3-4 p.m. in S0119 – (no registration needed).
  • Using Ally to Improve Internet Accessibility – Tuesday, Jan. 29,  10-10:50 a.m. in S0119. Using Ally with Blackboard facilitates the creation of a more inclusive online learning environment. This hands-on workshop will introduce Ally’s many capabilities.   • ISO the Academic Integrity of Instructional Materials: Seeking Permission and Source References– Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2-2:50 p.m. in S0119.   • Creating Accessible Word Documents – Wednesday, Jan. 30,  3-3:50 p.m. in S0119.
