FAC hosts film screenings of “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”

The LLCC Feminist Activist Coalition is hosting movie reviews and discussions of “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.” The screenings will take place on March 28, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons. The film chronicles the life of Deborah Lacks and journalist Rebecca Skloot’s discovery of the harvesting of Henrietta’s cancerous cells. The immortal cell line, now known as HeLa, came from Lacks’s cervical cancer cells in 1951.
