LLCC is hosting the annual Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE) Academic Challenge Tuesday, Jan. 31 beginning at 10:20 a.m. in Cass Gymnasium at the Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road. An awards ceremony is being held at 1:05 p.m.
Students from 19 area high schools in the LLCC district are participating in the regional level competition. The Academic Challenge, hosted by more than 50 community colleges and universities in Illinois and Missouri, is sponsored by the WYSE office in the School of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIU-C). The regional level competition is being sponsored by LLCC, the WYSE office at UIU-C and the Capital Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE).
