Lincoln Land is one of 18 community colleges and/or Chicago city schools to compete in the “Be a Hero” campaign to strengthen the Life Goes On donor registry here in Illinois. Currently, more than 5,000 Illinois residents and 118,000 people nationwide are waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Through various activities, Honor’s Club students Annisa Kumerow, Lauren Masten, Tyler Mathews and Russell Michelich will be promoting organ/tissue donor awareness and encouraging Illinois residents to join the Illinois Organ/Tissue Donor Registry. Schools will be recognized based on the creativity and effectiveness of the campaign, as well as the number of registrations obtained. The campaign runs through April.
