Story Maps workshop today, 3-3:30 p.m.

Today, LLCC Academic Innovation & eLearning is hosting “Everyone’s Got a Story to Tell: Using Story Maps in the Classroom” on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 3-3:30 p.m. in Sangamon Hall 0119.

Visual content is king! Studies show a faster response rate to images and graphics than the written word. In this session, you can learn how this web-based graphic organizer software lets you combine diagrams and maps with narrative text, images and multimedia content. Harness the power of visuals to help your students learn your course content more easily! Register at http://bit.ly/2qrQPia.

*Current online faculty participating in the Online Proficiency Program can receive one point for successful completion of this workshop.

New budget and planning form

The FY19 planning and budgeting process is starting later than usual this year. A new SharePoint form has been developed that will streamline the submission process, successfully collapsing all the previous forms into one easy-to-use form. The LLCC Finance Department plans to open access to the form on March 7 for submission of items for the FY19 planning and budgeting year. This new form will be open from March 7-30.

Individuals attending the Leadership Roundtable on March 2 will hear more about the new form. The finance department will have two instructional training sessions to help users walk through the process. These training sessions are:

  • Monday, March 5 at 9 a.m. in Logan Hall 1138
  • Tuesday, March 6 at 1 p.m. in Logan Hall 1138

Directions and instructional video have been created for individuals that cannot attend a training session. Both items and the link to the SharePoint page will be posted to the FY2019 Planning & Budgeting link on the finance department’s SharePoint page by the end of the week.
