LLCC Connect is now live!
LLCC Student Life is proud to announce the new LLCC student engagement app, LLCC Connect, is now live for students to download on the Apple and Google Play stores! Students will receive access information in their LLCC email.
As a reminder, LLCC Student Life has discontinued the production of the Success Planner (student calendar/planner). All information included inside the student planner will now be located in the new app. In addition, the app will include other ways for students to stay connected and up-to-date. It will house important dates and events such as the academic calendar, student life events and other campus activities and has a social networking opportunities within the app.
Access has only been sent out to current LLCC students. Faculty and staff can request access to LLCC Connect by emailing studentlife@llcc.edu. Since the nature of this app is student engagement focused, we ask that faculty and staff only request access if they intend to use app information to keep students informed on what is happening in the campus community.
For more information and to get a sneak peek at what the app looks like, check out www.llcc.edu/llcc-connect.
Introducing LLCC Connect
LLCC Student Life is excited to announce the upcoming launch of LLCC Connect, a new student engagement app. With the launch of this engagement app in a few weeks, Student Life has discontinued the production of the Success Planner (student calendar/planner). All information included inside the student planner will now be located in the new app. In addition, the app will include other ways for students to stay connected and up-to-date. It will house important dates and events such as the academic calendar, student life events and other campus activities.
LLCC offices and departments can submit LLCC student events and activities for inclusion in the app’s events calendar by filling out the LLCC Connect event submission form. If you have any questions, please contact student.life@llcc.edu. We look forward to the launch of this new app and will be sharing more information about LLCC Connect when it is available to download.
Blood donation
While LLCC Student Life will not be able to host a blood drive on campus this summer, there are still ways you can donate blood during this time of need in our community. We wanted to share with you the following information from our friends at Central Illinois Community Blood Center:
Blood is a critical resource for patients, and the blood center must maintain 24/7 operations during this pandemic to ensure life-saving treatment can continue.
Blood demand is increasing as hospitals have eased restrictions on elective surgeries and are now providing treatment options that were previously postponed. CICBC is asking blood donors to step forward during this challenging time.
If you are healthy, please consider donating. View guidelines and learn about safety measures the Blood Center is taking.
Donations are currently accepted by appointment only.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month
This Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), LLCC Compliance & Prevention partnered with Student Life to offer virtual challenges aimed at helping our community turn our awareness into action. In order to show support for SAAM’s mission of increasing awareness and preventing sexual violence, we are also inviting faculty and staff to take part in the final challenges (prizes are only for students). Instructions can be found on LLCC’s Sexual Violence Resources webpage. Information AND opportunities to participate can be found on the LLCC Student Life Facebook page. A challenge with trivia questions began yesterday. Check out the video to the first question.
We hope you’ll join us in taking part in these challenges and encouraging students to participate. Questions? Contact Shelby Bedford at shelby.bedford@llcc.edu.
GSA virtual event
The GLSEN Day of Silence is a national student-led demonstration where LGBTQ students and allies all around the country — and the world — take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ people in schools. This year due to the quarantine, we are going virtual! We will be combining the LLCC Gay-Straight Alliance’s yearly Speak Out event with the Day of Silence to bring awareness about LGBTQ+ discrimination in schools and to “break the silence.” LGBTQ+ students and allies are welcome to join in on the silence by registering. Posts will be made to GSA Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the day starting at 10 a.m. (Instagram: GSA_LLCC Facebook: LLCC GSA).
If you would like to join in, feel free to send a video or photo of why you are being silent to our Instagram or email GSA president Ci Richardson at crich8642@llcc.edu.
