Veterans Day recognition

United States flagsLLCC Student Life is preparing for LLCC’s 25th annual Veterans Day Ceremony, which will be held virtually on Nov. 11. The ceremony honors all veterans including LLCC faculty, staff and students who served in the armed forces.

Current LLCC staff, faculty and students who are active or inactive military are invited to share their name, branch of military and military photo with Student Life so that their service can be recognized in the Veterans Day Ceremony. The ceremony will feature a picture slideshow to honor all military personnel. We look forward to honoring your services to our country! Please fill out this Veterans Day Recognition form by Oct. 28 to be recognized in this year’s ceremony. If you have any questions or difficulty uploading your military photo, please email studentlife@llcc.edu.

The club held a food drive as part of National Food Checkout Week the last week in February. LLCC Student Life In-Center Blood Drive

LLCC Student Life is hosting an in-center blood drive Sept. 14-19. Instead of hosting our normal blood drives on the main campus, we are encouraging you to consider donating during this week by scheduling an appointment at Central Illinois Community Blood Center and uniting as a campus community in this unique way!

 
Appointments are required for social distancing. Center hours vary by day of the week. View more information, and schedule an appointment.
 
The need for blood is at pre-pandemic levels, and additional donors are needed to help stock the shelves. Without donations patients run the risk of not receiving critical treatments. You can help! Please consider scheduling an appointment to give.
 
All donors will receive a voucher for a retro T-shirt or a gift card.
 
When donating, please tell blood center staff to credit LLCC Student Life by using group code 61258.

Fall 2020 food pantry operations

LLCC Student Life is open for students who have scheduled a food pantry pick-up appointment.

The LLCC Food Pantry has available food pick-up appointments during the following times each week (on days LLCC offices are open):

  • Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 1-3 p.m.
  • Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Students must sign up for a food pick-up time in My Scheduler.

For students that have registered for their food pantry pick-up appointment, they are asked to arrive at the time registered for and no earlier. They will be handed a pre-made food kit. Students can register for one food pick-up appointment per week. For more information, contact LLCC Student Life at studentlife@llcc.edu or 786-2241.
