PRM wins awards at district conference

LLCC’s Public Relations and Marketing Office won six awards at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) NCMPR awardsDistrict 3 Conference in Ft. Wayne, Ind. last Thursday. First place (gold) was for best logo (Go Near. Go Far.); second place (silver) in the categories of class schedule (Forward Summer/Fall 2015) and single print ad (Go Near. Go Far.), and bronze awards for radio ad series (Go Near. Go Far.), print ad series (Go Near. Go Far.) and illustration, (Greg Walbert’s Edgar Allen Poe image for LLCC Theatre).

Campus Visit Day a success

Thank you to all faculty and staff who participated at Campus Visit Day or assisted with setup or other accommodations. The event was a success with 375 visitors learning about our programs and services.  We greatly appreciate your help with showing our guests that LLCC is the best college choice.

Save the date for the spring 2016 Campus Visit Day being held on Monday, Feb. 15 (Presidents Day).

Next KUDOS awards to be announced Oct. 23

The next KUDOS award recipients will be announced Oct. 23. Nominate a deserving colleague by clicking on the KUDOS image below or the KUDOS tab in the upper right corner of LincIn. Deadline for nominations is Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The KUDOS award is an informal way to recognize the small and large ways Kudos logoour faculty and staff contribute to the positive environment that is LLCC. The person you nominate will receive a KUDOS certificate, with winners announced in LincIn, along with what they did to deserve the award. A nominator has the option for his/her name to be published or to remain anonymous in any LLCC correspondence. However, nominations must include the nominator’s name for the nominee to be recognized. Brighten someone’s day and say “thank you, great job!” with the KUDOS award.

More than 300 expected to attend Campus Visit Day

More than 300 prospective students and family members are registered to attend Campus Visit Day on Monday. Two sessions are being held, morning and evening. Students will hear a presentation about the enrollment process, take campus tours, research careers and visit exhibits to talk to various faculty and staff about programs and services.

WQLZ Ticket Stop and Open House tonight

LLCC’s Workforce Careers Center will be a “WQLZ Ticket Stop” tonight from 4-6 p.m. for the upcoming Godsmack/Sevendust rock concert in Springfield. WQLZ is broadcasting live and providing giveaways. Anyone who comes will be eligible to win tickets to the Sept. 27 concert at the Prairie Capital Convention Center. (Sorry, LLCC employees are not eligible to win the tickets, but you are welcome to stop by!)

In addition, there is an Open House scheduled during that time, with tours of the Workforce Careers Center and faculty/staff on hand to answer questions about enrolling in classes.
